San Francisco Date Spots and Its History

San Francisco Date Spots and Its History

San Francisco has a history, which includes date spots and other businesses. One day, you will see a club in its highest performance peak and another day, you will find it closes, for whatever reasons. Below are some of the places that have made history, but had to close their doors. You may well know some of them. If not, this list will only serve to provide the information that you need to appreciate the new San Francisco date spots that have taken their place. Das Club was located in the city of San Francisco in the 1980s. It played a lot of music in the new wave genre. They had cat walk stages for people to stand out while they dance. On top of that, there was a dark room that patrons could go when they wanted to make out. The club also had two dance floors and two bars. One dance floor overlooked the lower level. The DV8 Club was also a favorite for local San Francisco residents. It was located on 540 Howard Street. The club closed due to not renewing their permit. Before closing, though, it was one of the hot date spots. It had three dance floors and you had to pay a cover charge of ten bucks to enter. It was always filled. You had to go early to get in. Long lines would wrap around the block on weekends. Inside, the ceiling was low and the club was quite dark with blue iridescent fish tanks. If you did not like cigarette smoke, then you may not have liked this club. Patrons were allowed to smoke inside. The Galactica Club was opened from 1981 to 1986. It featured a wide range of live entertainment and events such as Iggy Pop, The English Beat and Dead Kennedys. On the nights when there was no live entertainment, the DJ would play new wave music. The Mabuhay Gardens club played a lot of new wave and punk rock music during the latee 1970s to early 1980s. Many bands in the local area performed there; some of which were Iggy Pop, The Fleshtones, DRI and The Avengers. In fact, many bands would stop by on their way to their touring destination.
